The true story of a homeowner’s battle to sell their own house under, For Sale By Owner.
My name is Ann Crystal. I like to consider myself a writer of poetry and fictional stories. Yet, there are those few true-life events that I will one day pen onto paper (or type into digital text) because it affected my life in such a huge way. This is one of those events. My mother and father, Pat and Izzy are homeowners who are trying to sell their house in the Los Angeles, CA area. As my parents entered into the modern world of real estate, we suddenly realized that it seemed that the real estate market had become a monopolized horror. There may be a game being played, and the average homeowner seemed to be regarded as an unimportant and undervalued game piece, who are easily deceived, manipulated, or intimidate. This is a true story about my parents and their effort toward Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. |
This book covers my family’s experiences with some of the real estate professionals and some of the investors who we have dealt with.
You will read about contracts, my mother’s and I watching of our local housing market, and about everything that this rollercoaster ride of trying to sell my parents home has brought upon my family.
This book is based on what I’ve come to comprehend about some real estate professionals, some investors, and some who are involved in my parents local housing market.
These conclusions are based on personal experiences, and I suggest and hope that someone among my readers will research this subject further, or perhaps have the resources to professionally investigate into this matter that could be happening to other homeowners/homebuyers.
Please note that while I am not implying that all real estate professionals and/or investors are involved, all readers are advised to read and/or (if needed) to seek professional assistance to read and understand contracts, terms and conditions, privacy policies, and any other forms of agreements before agreeing to do or conducting business with any party.
One of the reasons my mother and I originally created our blogs was in hopes to help other homeowners who may not realize that there could be schemes out there to swindle their homes away from them.
Now I have created this book for the same reason.
I hope that you find this book and my blogs informative. Welcome to my book, I shall try to keep the contents polite…try LOL
Thank you for reading.

How This All Began:
My mother and father, Pat and Izzy are homeowners who are trying to sell their house in the Los Angeles, CA area.
For about a year now, my mother and I have written two blogs together to document Pat and Izzy’s experiences as my parent’s try to sell their house.
One of the reasons that my mom and I started blogging about this journey was because of a real estate scam that we believed to have encountered.
My mom and I wanted to let people know about this possible scam, we wanted to warn other homeowners who had (or are planning to place) their house on the market.
In addition to writing the blogs, we had written to the media, trying to reach a newsperson who would investigate and warn the public about the possible scams that seem to be targeted at homeowners.
Between the emails and blog posts, very few seemed to listen to what we have been trying to say. While we hoped that someone would investigate further, we worried for the people who were too trusting and unaware of the dangers of losing their houses.
My mom and I knew that the longer it took for the truth to be revealed, more homeowners may become victims.
When It Turned Into Something More:
We would soon learn that there was more to blog about besides the possible scams that we had encountered.
That was until they met my mother.
I am publishing this book in hopes that it will reach more people.
Within The Pages Of This Book You Will Read About:
This book is a compliment of my mom’s and my blogs. While these pages have been reworded, added to/omitted from, reflowed, or edited in some ways, I have tried to leave much of it as each post was originally blogged.
This book will introduce you to what my family has encountered in the world of real estate. It documents our past and present experiences from the time we first decided to list our house for sale.
This book can stand-alone. Although we have yet to sell our home (as of the publishing date of this book), it is the experiences so far that we want to make known and warn about.
These pages are filled with our thoughts about the current state of the real estate market, and about what we feel needs to be changed about it.
